Content

The last sanctuary where humans and ayakashi can live together.
Shikoku – A hidden village deep in the mountains of Kochi. Monobeno.
A land where ayakashi gather to escape as fear is transforming and they are no longer feared by anyone, forgotten, and ready to disappear.

There is a scarecrow that watches and reports on these migrants, travelers, and returnees to Monobeno from deep in the forest on the border of the village, and even becomes a wall itself, blocking intruders. I’ll be back.

His name is the bobcat.
In the past, the bobcat could not take human form, could not speak human language, and could only meow and report. However, after helping to resolve a strange incident in Monobeno, the bobcat gained great virtue, learned the art of humanization, and was able to take human form.

But even so, the life of a mountain cat is almost the same.
The only path that leads to the village from the depths of the forest, except when interacting with a very few close ayakashi and humans.
The only way to keep an eye on the road.

In the midst of all this, a traveler – you – wanders off the road and deep into the forest.

The bobcat who rescued you from the wounded wanderer interrogates you, and as he does so, he becomes completely sympathetic to your cause – the treasure hunt – and you and the bobcat become members of a private expedition.

Deep in the forest of Monobeno, filled with the rich sounds of nature, in a hot spring hidden there.
